I am writing a poetry book! I feel excited to share this body of work that includes poetry written between the years 2018-2026, and have already submitted to several publishers for consideration. Being a first-timer, I don’t really expect to land a publishing deal or win a contest this time around. I will wait patiently for a few months to hear back…. but I’m also eager to share these poems before too much time passes.
As a way to begin sharing this work and support its release (potentially self-published!), I’ve been dreaming up the idea of a postcard mail club. I love receiving handmade mail - how it puts a pep in my step on the way back in from the mailbox, in peaceful contrast to expensive bills and flashy ads that are the norm. I want to send some good mail, too!
Every month, I will share a piece of handprinted visual art and one poem from my forthcoming book. If you’d like to receive them, you can sign up here and pay just enough to cover the cost of making & mailing the postcard and my heart will be full to the brim knowing I can send you something special in the mail. If you choose to pay more than $3 per card, the additional funds will go towards the self-publishing of this poetry book and/or creative, community-oriented distribution of the book after published.
I plan for this print + poem postcard pal project to last at least one year—until March of 2027—and hope to have the poetry book released in some form or fashion by that time as well. Please be free to come and go as you please and don’t feel like you need to stay subscribed for any length of time. Postcard club prints and poems will not be sold online - only sent in the mail & perhaps sold at in-person markets and the Juniper Tree merch table.
Mostly I just want to send some art in the mail :) I’d also LOVE to be pen pals a.k.a. trade snail mail - please send me an email if you’d prefer to trade postcards rather than pay $.
First month gets lovingly tucked in the mailbox March 16th!
